Speaker: Sergeant David Francway - Assistant Post Commander - Elyria Post
Francway currently has 25 years of law enforcement service with the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Prior to being hired by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Francway served with the United States Navy and the Ohio Army National Guard. He also volunteered his time as an Auxiliary Deputy with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. Francway is currently assigned to the Elyria Post in Lorain County as the Assistant Post Commander.
Francway has been a regional training instructor for the Ohio State Highway Patrol since 2004 with an emphasis on the Ohio Basic Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC)’s Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (S.F.S.T.’s). Francway is also a certified Unit Instructor through OPOTC where he instructs at the Lorain County Community College’s Police Training Academy since 2005. Francway is also a certified OPOTC gang investigator, Field Training Officer (FTO) and Sergeant Training Office (STO) for the State Highway Patrol. Francway current holds an Associate of Applied Science in Police Science and is continuing his education with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Safety Management with Cleveland State University.
Cost is $25.00 per person for Construction Safety Council Members.
