Brecksville Planners Approve First Valor Acres Office Building
The first proposed office building in the mixed-use section of Valor Acres, at the northwest corner of Brecksville and Miller roads, has received final approval by the Planning Commission.
It didn’t happen, though, before the commission became entangled in disagreements over city code technicalities and architectural details, all of which could have delayed the project another couple of weeks.
The usually calm and patient Kevin DiGeronimo -- principal of DiGeronimo Development LLC, the Independence firm that is designing and building Valor Acres -- showed rare signs of frustration at the June 8 meeting.
“This (approval) is urgently important for us to keep this ball rolling,” DiGeronimo told the commission. “If we miss another cycle and have to step backwards, that’s a problem for us.”
Later in the meeting, Commissioner Ron Payto told DiGeronimo that he and his team seemed to have ignored the commission’s latest concerns about the building façade.
