Cleveland City Council Delves into Specifics Around the Big Site Readiness Fund
The plan to turn 1,000 acres into shovel-ready sites in Cleveland is the Justin Bibb administration's largest proposed expenditure of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, and Cleveland City Council wants to make sure the administrative costs don't cut into the mission.
Cleveland's Site Readiness Fund, which includes an initial $50 million commitment from Cleveland's ARPA money and could grow as large as $100 million with funds from other entities, aims to remediate blighted and brownfield properties. It was the subject of a hearing at council's Development, Planning and Sustainability Committee on Tuesday, May 16, following a presentation by members of the administration, Cuyahoga County and nonprofit leaders.
