Gov. Mike DeWine signed a $3.5 billion capital budget on Tuesday, June 14, which provides money for the construction of an Intel chip manufacturing facility, school safety measures and community projects.

“This budget is about creating jobs, growing our economy and looking out for the future of Ohioans,” he said during a press conference at the Ohio Statehouse shortly after signing the bill.

Of the $3.5 billion, $2.8 billion will come from state funds and the rest from federal dollars. The legislature has authorized DeWine to spend $1.5 billion in cash instead of borrowing the money by issuing bonds.
