CEA Habitat for Humanity House Groundbreaking Ceremony

Body

On a cheerful, rainy Monday, April 18, CEA and Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity celebrated an exciting groundbreaking. More than 50 Construction Employers Association (CEA) members and fellow union contractors are donating their time, talent, funds and materials to build a Cleveland Habitat house in the Greater Buckeye neighborhood. This fully-funded all-union construction build - a first for Cleveland Habitat - will be their 14th house on Grandview Ave. and the 83rd in the Greater Buckeye area since 2016.

Tony DiGeronimo, president of Precision Environmental Company and vice chair of CEA, brought the concept of building a Cleveland Habitat house to CEA and when Tony asks, everyone happily says “yes!” ”This Habitat house is a result of collaboration - construction unions working together to revitalize Cleveland and help a family,” remarked Congresswoman Shontel Brown. ”CEA and Habitat for Humanity are making this a reality.” CEA board members in attendance included Chairman Dominic Ozanne, David Giorgi (Giorgi Interior Systems), Joe Michael (Norris Brothers), and Chris Halapy (Shook Construction).
