Federal Contractor COVID Compliance Moved to Jan. 4

Today, President Biden moved back the date by which federal contractor employees must be “fully vaccinated.”  The new deadline is January 4, 2022, which aligns the federal contractor rule with the OSHA ETS deadline.

The Ohio General Assembly concluded an active first six months of 2021 and now stand in recess until September.  A majority of the legislature’s time was focused on the passage of the Transportation, Industrial Commission, Bureau of Workers Compensation, and Operating Budgets.

Ohio Senate Approaches Final Stages With Ohio’s Main Operating Budget

The budget process continues in earnest and is nearing its completion in the Senate.  This last week, the Ohio Senate Finance Committee accepted a substitute bill (HB 110 Budget - Creates appropriations for FY 2022-2023 -Oelslager) putting the Senate’s mark on the state budget.  There will be further changes ahead with amendments and an omnibus bill due.  The Senate’s goal is to have the bill voted on by the entire chamber the week of June 7th.

The Ohio legislature continues to race to the finish line (summer recess) as they debate the Industrial Commission Budget, BWC Budget and the State Operating Budget. Although they are focused on passing these three budgets, the legislature continues to pass legislation related to COVID relief and rolling back the Governor’s power on emergency health orders. At the County level, our local elected officials stay committed to enact legislation regarding diversity and equity.
